1-What does B1 or B2 stand for?
It's shorthand for boy #1 or boy #2. Being that the Internet is a scary place for kid info and that I sorta like these kids and have grown used to them being around me, I am protecting their personal info.
2-What is the family dynamic?
There is a Mommy and a Daddy (that's me and Phil) and soon-to-be five kids. There is our oldest son (B1) who is 12, and was followed three years later by our second oldest son (B2) who is 9 and who was followed yet another three years later by our third son (B3) who is 6. I did not plan this, but apparently my body likes to follow a pattern. Two years after the third son, our fourth child, a daughter (G4) was born. She is 3 and will turn 4 soon. Now, nearly four years later, I am due to give birth to our fifth child, our fourth son. Oh yeah, we also have a dog and a cat. Both are boys.
3-Wow four boys! How do you manage?
I remind myself that in some cultures I'd be revered for my ability to produce sons. And then I take one (maybe two) anti-depressants. With the teenage years right around the corner for B1, I'm angling for an anti-anxiety med from my doctor.
4-How'd it all start?
Phil and Jen met. Although we went to the same high school and "hung out" in the same crowds, we never officially met until Phil was 19 and Jen was 17. We met, fell in love, and got to this business of making babies. Our parents were thrilled. I was 17 when I became pregnant with our oldest son and gave birth to him shortly after I turned 18. Much to the chagrin of our Catholic parents, it wasn't until I was knocked up with child #2 that we were married.
5-How do you go anywhere?
In a minivan, duh. But at the store, I walk around counting kids and calling off items from the list. I sound a bit llike Rainman uttering, "Paper towels. 1. 2. 3. 4. Good. Toilet paper. 1. 2. Uh-oh, where's 3 and 4?" Phil's job is to make sure they don't act like complete assholes. We actually try to keep shopping trips with all members of the family to a minimum because they tend to be more expensive as the kids remember the items that you would have forgotten. Sometimes the best savings plan is from the money you save by forgetting items at the store.
6-How do you afford it?
Hard work, family support (daycare), and blessings from God. We both work outside the home, with me working part-time. We won't name where as I have learned well from Dooce.
7-You do know what causes that right (the babies)?
Duh. And we obviously like to do it and are good at it. Judging by your lack of children, should we interpret otherwise for you?
